Data Deletion
Data Deletion Instructions
PaperDay works without signing in. If you never created an account, there is nothing on the server to delete — uninstalling the app is the end of it.
If you did sign in, you may request deletion of your account and the data stored on the server at any time, whether or not you have a subscription. Choose one of the two methods below.
What is on your device is not deleted. Your account and all synced data on the server are erased, but the plans, records and diary entries on this device stay. In PaperDay the copy on your device is the original, so deleting your account does not remove what you have written. To remove that too, uninstall the app.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open the PaperDay app and sign in.
- Go to More → Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation and tap Delete — deletion happens immediately.
This works whether or not you are subscribed, and whether or not you ever were. It is the same on phone, tablet and web.
Cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your account does not stop billing at the store. Please cancel first in the subscription settings of Google Play or the App Store, then delete the account.
Option 2 — Request by email
If you cannot use the app — you lost the device, or you cannot sign in — you can request deletion by email.
- To: contact@carrotsoftclan.com
- Subject: PaperDay account deletion request
- In the message, state which sign-in you used (Google, Facebook, Kakao, LINE or Apple) and the email address of that account. Those two are the only clues we have for finding your account.
We process verified requests within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account, and the sign-in identities linked to it (Google, Facebook, Kakao, LINE, Apple)
- The list of registered devices, and every sign-in token
- Subscription and entitlement records, and purchase confirmations
- Everything you had synced, and the actual bytes held in file storage
- The sealing key that opens your synced data
The same things are deleted whether you delete in the app or ask by email, and it cannot be undone.
What remains
- What is on your device — as described above.
- Support enquiries you sent — they remain, with the link to your account removed.
- Access and error logs — they remain with the link to your account removed, and are physically deleted after 30 days.
- One line in the deletion log — when a deletion ran and how many records it covered. No email address and no name is written there.
After a subscription ends — 90 days
Ninety days after a subscription expires we delete that account automatically, without waiting for a request. Exactly what is listed above is deleted. Subscribing again within those 90 days stops the clock.
If you never subscribed, this clock never starts. Without a subscription there is no expiry date to count from, so Option 1 or Option 2 above is the only way to delete your account.
